Milkweed refers to the flowering plants of the genus Asclepias, derived from Asclepius, the Greek god of healing. The name is a tad misleading considering that most milkweeds are toxic to people and animals. In spite of this, it is the main food source for the notable Monarch butterfly. Monarchs are particularly bad at pollinating milkweeds, so nothing is received in return. Other insects are attracted to the intricate flowers, but their appendanges may get stuck in the flower's reproductive parts. In its stuggle for freedom, the insect will either be large enough to escape, taking the pollen sacs with it, or it will be trapped until its eventual death.
Oh, you want to know about me?
I can never seem to find the right combination of words to describe myself without feeling like I didn't do myself justice or I revealed too much information. I was born in the year 2000 near the Chattahoochee river, but I can be found scattered throughout this wondrous world. I enjoy taking long walks, gazing at the moon, and pondering my existence.
